TLDR

Twin Sun built a complete telehealth platform for an Urgent Care Provider Network, including iOS and Android patient apps plus a provider web portal for virtual urgent care visits. The project involved complex scheduling logic to handle provider availability, state licensing requirements, and wait time calculations, with Twilio powering video consultations and Square handling payments across all platforms. The project delivered a fully functional platform in eight months.

The Challenge

An Urgent Care Provider Network wanted to increase patient volume by adding telehealth visits to their existing practice. They needed patient-facing mobile apps for iOS and Android, plus a provider web portal for conducting virtual consultations. The project required complex scheduling logic to handle provider availability, state licensing requirements, and wait time calculations. They had previously worked with another vendor who missed deadlines and delivered poor quality work, leaving them cautious about starting fresh.

Our Solution

Twin Sun built a complete telehealth platform from the ground up. The mobile apps let patients schedule appointments, provide insurance information, make payments, and join video consultations. The provider portal gave clinicians tools to manage their availability, conduct video visits, and communicate with patients through secure messaging.

The scheduling system had to account for multiple variables: when the clinic was open, when individual providers were available, what states each provider was licensed in versus where each patient was located, and provider-specific schedules including time off. We used Twilio for video calling across both web and mobile platforms, and integrated Square to handle secure in-app payments for both consultation fees and copays.

The Results

We delivered a fully functional telehealth platform in eight months. Both mobile apps were approved in their respective app stores. The provider portal gave clinicians everything they needed to conduct virtual visits. Regular budget updates throughout the project kept the client informed of progress and costs.

The app launched successfully in October 2022, giving the practice everything they needed to offer virtual visits alongside their in-person care.
