TLDR
CareNexus needed to integrate e-prescribing functionality into their GoHighLevel-based clinical CRM for independent healthcare providers. Twin Sun conducted extensive research on both platforms to understand the technical constraints, then developed creative solutions within those limitations. We built a custom button that embedded the DoseSpot e-prescribing portal directly on patient detail pages, eliminating a clunky multi-step workflow. Clear communication translated complex technical constraints into terms the client could understand and evaluate. The integration shipped on time and on budget, with same-day issue resolution throughout the engagement.
The Challenge
CareNexus is building a clinical CRM for physicians and independent medical professionals. The platform needed to be a single place to manage potential patients, active patients, sessions, and treatment history. A core requirement was integrated e-prescribing so clinicians would not have to jump between systems. The client had chosen GoHighLevel as their CRM foundation and DoseSpot as their e-prescribing provider. The challenge was connecting these two systems in a way that felt seamless to the end user, despite significant technical constraints within GoHighLevel’s architecture.
Our Solution
We started with deep research into both platforms. Understanding the limitations of GoHighLevel’s extensibility and the full capabilities of DoseSpot’s API gave us a clear picture of what was actually possible versus what the client had initially envisioned.
Some functionality could not be implemented exactly the way the client wanted. Rather than simply saying no, we explained the constraints clearly and got creative within the tools GoHighLevel did provide. We used white-labeling features to create a custom button that generated the DoseSpot portal directly on the patient detail page.
This was a significant win. The alternative would have required users to copy a link, open a new browser tab, and paste the URL just to access the e-prescribing interface. Having the button right on the patient detail page preserved the workflow the client needed.
Throughout the project, we made technical information accessible. Many of the limitations we encountered were happening behind the scenes, which made them hard to explain to a non-technical client. In our iteration meetings, we used analogies and metaphors to describe what was happening and why certain approaches were or were not possible. This kept the client on the same page and comfortable with our decisions.
The Results
The first tangible deliverable was the client being able to interact with the DoseSpot portal within the GoHighLevel CRM. That was the moment the work felt real instead of abstract.
We maintained rapid response times throughout the engagement. When issues came up via Slack, we responded within an hour or two and typically resolved problems the same day. This responsiveness solidified the client’s trust in our team.
The project met milestones successfully and on time, remained within budget, and is on target to produce a high ROI for CareNexus as they bring their platform to market.
